Angel Investing 101

Many start-up businesses need outside funding at some point. Venture capital, banks, crowdfunding and credit cards are all possibilities. But there is a place beyond seed funding for the angel investor, the high-net worth individual who chooses to invest in early-stage companies. But how does a company find angel investors? And how does one become a successful angel investor? This workshop deals with the latter question.

Annually in the fall, Rice Alliance – Austin Chapter partners with Austin Technology Incubator, Central Texas Angel Network and other organizations to host a one-day workshop that introduces angel investing as a new investment possibility for accredited investors. The casual and interactive experience covers such topics as conducting due diligence and early-stage company valuation. A healthy entrepreneurial ecosystem needs extensive and varied funding, and we aim to help.
